Zoek je een standaard reisgids zoals Rough Guide, Lonely Planet, Michelin, Capitool enz., dan is deze gids waarschijnlijk niet wat je zoekt. Want de algemene praktische informatie ontbreekt grotendeels, of is in het beste geval zeer beknopt. Waarom zou je deze reisgids dan toch kopen? Omdat de standaardgidsen veel minder gedetailleerd zijn over het Isle of Wight dan deze gids. Plaatsen, bezienswaardigheden, accommodaties en horeca worden gedetailleerd beschreven in 6 regionaal ingedeelde hoofdstukken. Verder bevat deze gids aan het begin van elk hoofdstuk over transport naar en in de betreffende regio (bus, fietsen, wandelen). En voor de liefhebbers zijn er voldoende wandelsuggesties beschikbaar, al lijkt mij een wandelkaart nog steeds een welkome aanvulling. Wederom goede service van de Zwerver.
