Waar moet je op letten als je een goed fotoboek wilt kopen?

Verschillende soorten fotoboeken

Er zijn allerlei invalshoeken denkbaar als het gaat om fotoboeken: er zijn fotoboeken over landen, streken en steden, het thema is dan de regio die mooi wordt weergegeven al dan niet met begeleidende tekst. Een ander thema is het natuurkundige aspect bijvoorbeeld: woestijnen, bergen of de dierenwereld. Dan heb je ook nog de inspiratieboeken die je enthousiast maken over mooie dingen op onze aarde: 1000 dingen die je gezien moet hebben is zo'n titel.

Bedenk waar je het fotoboek voor wilt gebruiken

Gaat het om inspiratie om een mooie reisbestemming te vinden en gewoon lekker maken met mooie foto's of ben je meer op zoek dat de exacte plekken van een bezienswaardigheid? Dat zijn heel verschillende invalshoeken en boeken.

Vaak is het een kado, waarbij de foto's belangrijker zijn dan de tekst. Dan is de kwaliteit en vormgeving van zo'n boek wel belangrijk.

De taal van een fotoboek

Een fotoboek is er in verschillende talen: voor de meeste landen, streken en steden zeker in bepaalde landen buiten Europa zijn we toch afhankelijk van het aanbod in het Engels of Duits, heel soms Frans. We struinen natuurlijk de Engelse en Duitse markt af om alle gaten op te vullen. Veruit het grootste aanbod in fotoboeken is in het Duits te verkrijgen.

Gewicht en formaat van een fotoboek

Ook goed om op te letten is het gewicht en formaat van het fotoboek. Vanzelfsprekend neem je deze niet gauw mee op reis, maar het is ook wel prettig als het nog hanteerbaar is. Fotoboeken heb je echt in alle soorten en maten, maar bedenk dat gewicht en formaat vaak wel samenhangt met de kwaliteit van de foto's. Natuurlijk zit er dan wel een hoger prijskaartje aan. Vanzelfsprekend is het belangrijk dat een fotoboek up-to-date is of het moet juist gaan over een rijk verleden: wij verkopen geen oude fotoboeken en altijd de meest recente editie. Doordat we veel verkopen en onze voorraad zeer regelmatig wordt aangevuld, zijn we altijd voorzien van de nieuwste versie.
