De reeks Michelin gidsen 2012. De referentie voor hotels en restaurants! Betrouwbaar en praktische gidsen, altijd en overal ter wereld. De beroemde gids met de 'sterren'! In deze gids worden bijna alle hotels en restaurants beoordeeld op prijs en kwaliteit Talen: Duits, Engels, Frans en Italiaans

De zeer talentvolle kok Andreas Caminada van restaurant "Schauenstein" in Fürstenau (Kanton Graubünden) kreeg een derde ster, daarmee is hij de eerste ooit in Duitstalig Zwitserland. Restaurant "Le Pont de Brent" ging terug van drie naar twee sterren als gevolg van een overname. De nieuwe eigenaar is Stéphane Décotterd, die overigens al lange tijd in het restaurant werkt.
Er kwamen maar liefst drie tweesterrenrestaurants bij en 14 éénsterrestaurants in het toch niet zo grote Zwitserland ! Met in totaal 113 sterren heeft Zwitserland overigens het hoogst aantal sterren per inwoner van alle Michelingidsen.
Voor 2012 kwamen er 18 Bib gourmands bij, in totaal zijn er nu 79. Ook zijn er 7 nieuwe Bib Hotels, in totaal nu 42.
Zwitserland telt nu : 2 x driesterren, 16 x tweesterren, 75 x éénsterren, 79 Bibs, 220 uitzonderlijke wijnkaarten. Bijzonder is het feit dat er maar liefst 23 "Palace" hotels zijn, en nog eens 52 zeer luxe hotels.

The new Michelin Switzerland (Suisse / Schweiz / Svizzera) 2012 Hotels and Restaurants Red Guide awarded a total of 101 Michelin stars to the best Swiss restaurants and chefs. Although only two restaurants in Switzerland are awarded three Michelin stars, Switzerland still sports the largest number of Michelin stars per capita. Michelin also enlarged the lists of Swiss Bib Gourmand restaurants and Bib hotels – establishments that offer excellent food and service but at more affordable prices.

101 Michelin Stars in the Switzerland 2012 Hotels & Restaurants Red Guide
For the 2012 edition of the popular Red Guide to Switzerland, Michelin awarded a total of 101 Michelin stars to the best Swiss restaurants and top chefs. Switzerland now has a Michelin star for around every 75,000 Swiss residents.

The top Swiss cities for gourmet food are also the two largest cities in Switzerland. Geneva has six Michelin one-star restaurants while Zurich has five Michelin one-star restaurants. Neither city has two or three-star restaurants.

Top Michelin-Star Restaurants in Switzerland
The number of Michelin three-star restaurants and chefs in Switzerland remain as before at two only. The Swiss three-star restaurants are Le Pont de Brent and Hotel de Ville in Crisier, both small towns near Lausanne in canton Vaud (Waadt) on the northern shores of Lake Geneva. However, in the rising stars category, Schauenstein in Fürstenau (Graubünden) is being considered for an upgrade to three stars in the near future.

Switzerland has 13 Michelin two-star restaurants with Anne-Sophie Pic in Lausanne (Vaud / Waadt) the only new addition to this category for 2012. Auberge de Floris in Anières (Geneva) and Homann’s in Samnaun (Graubünden) were identified as rising stars.
